Way back Wednesday memory

Scrolling through my photos this morning I stopped on a group of photos from our work in Houston after Hurricane Harvey. In the aftermath of such wide spread flooding in Houston, our group made multiple trips to Houston to serve our neighbors.

During one of our trips we partnered with a local church and elementary school in what I would describe as downtown south Houston. I was amazed at how the public school welcomed us and the partner church which was across the street from the school into their property.

We cooked and served three large pots of jambalaya along with hotdogs. No one went away hungry that day. The principle at the school even kept the leftovers that we had for his afterschool program.

We were truly blessed to be able to serve this community, that day.

It had been a long day of cooking, but so thankful to be able to help out!
