What an incredible blessing we received from St. Martin de Porres Catholic church in Lake Charles.
This congregation was a host site for us last year and this year as we reached out to help our brothers and sisters in the Lake Charles area. They were on the front lines for the multiple hurricanes that devastated SW Louisiana last year and then once again when heavy ‘biblical’ rains happened in May.
Our cooking team loved the volunteers and the leadership of this parish and we developed a bond with them. After being hit with Hurricane Ida this past week, their leadership reached out to us to offer a huge financial donation to Forged by Fire to help feed people in the aftermath of this hurricane.
We cannot thank them enough for their gift and their prayers in this time.
