This past week we had a chance to help a church in Vestavia Hills with a community event. Funds raised from this event were being donated to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham and the Mother’s Day Out program at church. The event was originally scheduled for a 5 p.m. start time, but the weather that day did not cooperate. Rescheduled for the next day, we set up at Wald Park and started cooking for lunch.
My help for the day was our resident culinary expert Chef Lou. His “Dell Beans” were the hit of the event. We were also able to donate lunch to the local police department. Reports that were shared back from their department was that everyone loved our food and we were always welcome to come back and feed their department! Music to our ears for sure as we love supporting those who protect and serve our communities.
Many thanks to our generous supporters who help us make these events possible. The Village Church Lutheran in Lacombe, the Walmart Community Market in Slidell, Steve’s RV in Lacombe and our host Vicar Josh from the Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills.
