Forged by Fire has recently been blessed with the donation of a mobile kitchen trailer. This trailer came from Lutheran Church Charities out of Illinois. When they called and offered the trailer, it fit perfectly with our plans of supporting our disaster response work in the gulf coast region. Because of the size of this unit, it is better suited to be used in a base camp setting during long term disaster recovery.
So on Wednesday, we drove up to Chicago to meet with our contact at LCC and have a deep dish pizza for dinner before meeting the latest addition to our inventory. Thank you Kathy O’Day!

After meeting on Thursday morning and seeing the trailer in person, we attached the mobile kitchen to our truck and drove straight home. For the most part it was very uneventful ride home. I like those types of trips! I could not have made this trip without Walt Organ keeping me awake for the long drive home.
Of course we would like to thank LCC for their generous gift and the deep dish pizza! This mobile kitchen was originally built by the LCMS for a disaster response many years ago. At some point a few years ago, this unit made its way to LCC where they upgraded a few things and used the unit. LCC felt it would be better suited to see this unit be used more and decided to pass it down to us.
We feel fortunate to be able to receive this unit and look forward to our own updates to it. One of our first stops now will be Steve’s RV in Lacombe for a general health check up and then we will start looking at the equipment inside. More pictures will come as we begin to use and update the unit.

I want to thank everyone involved in making this happen. Our BOD and donors who supported this addition and LCC for their trust in our mission. Thank you and wishing you all a very happy and blessed New Year!
Awesome!!!!!!
So glad to see your work is being recognized and supported to help you continue the mission. Well Done….
