On Saturday we were able to go out to the Parish Shelter and help them with an event designed to thank the community for their support this past year and also possible adopt some animals.
We fixed our famous chicken and sausage pastalaya. 20lbs of pasta along with 20lbs of chicken and 20lbs of sausage made for a hearty meal. Add a gallon of milk along with 1 gallon of heavy whipping cream and you have what I call ‘delicious’…
Everything went perfect and the shelter was able to adopt over twenty animals that day. A huge success! If you have not taken a ride out to Hwy 36 to see your Parish shelter, you should. They keep this place clean and the animals are well taken care of. Please remember, they are a no-kill shelter, so do not go out and buy from a puppy mill this Christmas, stop over and bring home a loving pet from here.
