Behind every “Cross for Benny” handed out at a meal site, disaster deployment, or community event, there is a story of love. Prayer and partnership are also part of this story. The necklaces themselves are small. The hands that make them are mighty. We want to take a moment to celebrate the faithful volunteers who have helped this ministry grow.

This fall, the women of Bethlehem Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana gathered at their Fall Fling to make cross necklaces — turning fellowship into outreach and crafting into compassion. Their joyful service reminds us that ministry happens wherever hearts are open and hands are willing.

We’re also deeply grateful to Lois Prokasch of Villa Park, Illinois and Gayle Roberts of Litchfield Park, Arizona, who have each sent, another batch of crosses our way. Their continued support is a beautiful example of what it means to stay connected to a mission — even from miles away.
From the LWML Iowa East District – Westgate Zone, we thank the women who heard Pastor Paul speak at the LWML Convention and were moved to act. Some of their youth even visited our booth at the LCMS Youth Gathering in July, showing us that this ministry is planting seeds in the next generation.
We also celebrate the Society Group at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau, Wisconsin, the faithful women of the LWML Kansas – Hutchinson Zone. We want to honor the selfless spirit of volunteers from Imperial, Nebraska, and Sabetha, Kansas and individual partners like Nancy Medick in Elkhart, Iowa and G. Walker in Lovell, Wyoming — each one a reminder that God uses people from every corner of the country to share His hope.
To every person who has made a cross, prayed over a necklace, or encouraged others to join in: thank you. You are not just crafting jewelry — you are sharing the Gospel, one string and cross at a time. Your partnership allows us to place a cross necklace with every meal we serve, reminding those in crisis of the hope found in Romans 15:13.
We are planted in faith — and because of you, we are growing in grace.
