Lacombe Community Outreach Event

Last week we were part of a group of local St. Tammany Parish and Lacombe community leaders who came together to provide some much needed resources to the residents of Lacombe. Gerrin Narcisse organized an amazing team of people to put this event on.

We were blessed to be able to raise enough funds to fill 200 shelf-stable food boxes, serve 300 freshly prepared meals and hand out of over 100 hundred cross necklaces on Saturday at the John Davis Gym in Lacombe. By the way, the Rec center was incredibly supportive and helpful in allowing us to use their facility to make this happen.

We could not have done this without the incredible volunteers who came together to make this event run smoothly. I would like to personally thank the St. Tammany Fire District #3 employees and volunteers who were a huge help in unloading the supplies, making boxes and handing them out on Saturday. You guys were a kick to work with!

We are also blessed to have the financial support of Parish President Mike Cooper, Jay Galle, Pat McMath, Joe Impastato, Rickey Kastner, Redemption Church, The Village Church Men’s Club, Steve and Cindy Bordelon from Steve’s RV.

Mr. Joe donated some famous Sal and Judy’s sauce along with some pasta. We also received a donation of red beans from Blue Runner. And any event we do would not be complete without the generous support of our local Walmart Community Market stores.

When events like this take place, it reminds of the blessing we have of being part of our local communities. Giving back, helping others, and sharing the love of our Savior Jesus is such an immense gift we have to share.
